We use the existing fixed equipment on the tank or vessel to remove Liquid and Vapor as much as possible and then we start the filling and circulation process.
This is followed by a dosage of specially formulated solutions to break up large hydrocarbon chains into smaller manageable chain ensuring that the bioremediation process can take place at a faster rate.
Samples are taken during the process to determine the effectiveness of the cleaning operation.
The Hydrodozer is used to remove sludge from the bottom of the tank once the side manways are open. The Hydro-dozer can be dismounted in pieces, reassembled inside the tank and operated remotely from outside the manway. This system allows for an increase in productivity and reduces man presence inside the tank. The Hydro-dozer is hydraulically powered and is ATEX compliant.
Single Nozzle Sweepers (SNS) are installed at various points for injection of cutter stock and recirculation of material.
The system operates by drawing oil from the tank using a high flow pump, passing the product through a heat exchanger where the temperature is raised to a maximum 55 deg c.
The heated oil is then pumped to the SNS and is continuously circulated through the closed loop system for a set period of time.
The nozzle rotates and sweeps the entire floor area of the tank, breaking up and re-suspending the sludge and wax with the fresh oil.

HUSKY uses a unique, patented system for oil sludge quantification which offers a dramatic improvement over inaccurate manual dipping methods. 3D and grid plots are produced in real time together with an accurate calculation of sludge volume to within 5%. The Sludge Profiler for Oil Tanks (SPOT) is a sonar system which accurately locates maps and quantifies the levels of sludge in floating roof crude oil storage tanks, while they are still in service. The system is intrinsically safe and has full BASEEFA/ATEX certification. SPOT is fully mobile and designed for international shipment. A survey can be completed in one working day with minimal disruption to normal tank operations.The SPOT system is tried and tested with an international Client database. Results have been validated by our customers on a regular basis. The data generated by the SPOT system can be used to:
- Accurately quantify and profile sludge in the bottom of floating roof crude oil tanks.
- Assist with prioritization of tank cleaning projects.
- Ensure that safe roof landing/manway removal can take place.
- Enable monitoring of side entry mixer running patterns.
- Quantify the success or otherwise of non man-entry desludging systems.
Oil sludge from ponds or tanks is removed by using a customized set of hydraulic driven equipments i.e. hydro-dozer to break up the sludge and gather the sludge towards the oil sump, specially developed high-capacity pumps At the outset of each project, our specialists will assess each specific situation. Their analysis leads to recommendations on the most effective methods to remove oily sludge from lagoons, ponds, etc. and to draw up the requirements for equipment needed to assure the best treatment process to suit the particular type of sludge.

Special remote controlled suction dredgers are used to remove heavy sludge from beneath the water.
The dredgers have a built in high capacity sludge pump which can operate at depths up to 5 metres.
Sludge is fed into holding tanks for quantifying and pre treatment prior feeding into VHSS or into any area for other purposes. Eg. Vacuum Truck, drums and etc.
The technology and equipment used are designed and engineered to improve efficiency in sludge treatments which makes it cost effective for long term operations.
The oil recovery equipment is the MORS unit (Mobile Oil Recovery System). MORS is compact, 20ft unit designed for separation of crude oil sludge in Oil, Water and Sediments. The main components of the MORS are a high speed three phase centrifuge, adjustable feed pump, Viscosity Homogenizing Sludge Separator ( VHSS), and Chemical Dosing System .Following the centrifuge processing, the following remains :
- Oil on solids < 1.5%
- Oil in water < 0.5%
- Water in oil > 2%
- The sludge-processing throughput is in the order of 15 m3/hour.

Hydro excavation or non-destructive digging uses pressurized water to break up soil that is then removed through a vacuum system and deposited into a holding tank. The hydro excavation process is a very clean, precise and efficient method of digging while causing minimal damage to the surface above.
This service is ideal for all types of pits, separators, interceptor bays and lagoons.
The Pit Hog removes sludge and feeds it into a four-inch, high-capacity submersible cast iron solids handling pump. The pump propels the sludge through a flexible, floating high pressure urethane hose for on-shore collection. An electric motor, coupled to a hydraulic piston pump, provides power to drive the pump auger. The dredge is controlled from shore. Electronic solenoids control the hydraulic systems for pump speeds and depth of the auger.
